Husbands and Wives share in God’s creation of new life. Our intercessions today center around the needs of parents and children. God of love, you created us, male and female, to continue your work of creation. Through our prayers for one another, may our love reflect your risen Son, who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
With Praise to Almighty God, His Excellency, Reverend Archbishop Christopher Coyne Cordially Invites you to attend mass for the reception of Pallium, a symbol of the metropolitan Archbishop of Hartford Archdiocese, in presence of his imminence Cardinal-Designate, Christoph-Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States of America.
Saint Therese Picnic
“A Family That Prays Together, Eats Together”
Mark your calendars and plan to spend an afternoon with the St. Therese family for fun, fellowship, laughter, and good food. The picnic will start at noon, featuring music, dancing, games, a bounce house, and a chance to beat Father William at ping pong.
All are welcome! Please sign up on the parish website by September 24, providing the number of adults and children attending so we can plan accordingly. Volunteer opportunities for service hours for Confirmation candidates will be available. Call the parish office for more information.
Archbishop Coyne will celebrate the 10:30 AM Mass that morning and join us afterward.
24th Sunday in Ordinary Time-St. Thérèse of Lisieux, often called "The Little Flower," was born in 1873 in Alençon, France. Known for her deep devotion to God from a young age, she entered the Carmelite convent at just 15, focusing on a path of simplicity and love, which she referred to as the "Little Way." Her teachings emphasize finding holiness in everyday actions. Though her time in the convent was short, her impact on the Church has been enduring, with her spirituality offering inspiration to many seeking closeness with Christ through humble acts of love.
Today, I invite you to reflect on the Gospel of John 3:1-21, which tells the story of Nicodemus, a Pharisee, and his encounter with Jesus. This passage is key to understanding the importance of Baptism as a means to enter the Kingdom of God.
